Foli-Float 2015 - Seboeis
Updated: Apr 26, 2020
This trip was supposed to be our annual Foli-float that we take with our friends. Unfortunately they weren't able to make it. It was probably for the best as we woke up that Saturday morning to a fresh coating of snow at Brady's camp in Sherman, Maine. We thought the weather was supposed to be cold but not snow cold.
The snow didn't stop us though. We dropped off Brady's road bike (yes these were dirt roads and there was snow and a bit of mud. Brady is a really good cyclist...) and made our way to the put in. The cold couldn't stop us from snapping a few beautiful pictures of the Seboeis before we traveled too far.
We had the entire river to ourselves (what other nuts would canoe in 30 degree weather?). Well except for the two moose that we happened to see on the shore.
We paddled down river for a few hours and stopped at camp site that earlier in the year we had stopped at and left a paddle we broke to mark that event. We also enjoyed the snow by building ourselves a little snow man to go with it. Its a great campsite if you ever have the opportunity to enjoy a night or two on the Seboeis.
Our trip ended with me pitching a tent and getting into a sleeping bag to stay warm while I waited for Brady to go grab the car on his bike. He's really great about doing all the work while I can enjoy myself in the tent and catch up on some reading.
